Grief could be the person you once were,
to the one you are becoming.
A life you thought you were supposed to live,
to the life you are living now.
From what was,
to what is no longer.
From an idea of who you thought you’d be,
to accepting who you are
and who you have become.
You are exactly where you need to be.
What is similar in all of this
is what lives in between —
the resistance to letting go
and the fear of allowing things to simply be.
Grief is waiting —
a doorway waiting to be met,
not avoided.
